MCU Young Space Avengers : Will Poulter Cast as Adam Warlock


POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR THE CURRENT AND FUTURE MCU
   
     Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! Well we have been wondering about who is going to play Adam Warlock since Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 first teased the characters arrival back in 2017. Well four years later we have our answer, Will Poulter. Poulter is an excellent actor who you might know from, Midsommar, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Maze Runner series, The Revenant, or We are the Millers. Or you might know him because you are a Tolkien nerd like me and he was cast as young Elrond and you got angry about it then you saw a side by side picture and you fell in love with the casting but then the casting changed and you kind of forgot about it until just now. Just me? Okay moving on, dude is an incredible actor I can not wait to see him as Adam Warlock. 

    But then I saw the other two actors who was supposedly in the final three for the casting. This apparently has been a very well sought after role in Hollywood so Poulter really earned it. The other two names on the sheet were, Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton) or George MacKay (1917). Poulter is the youngest of the trio but MacKay is only 29 and Page is 31. They were specifically going for a "younger" actor. Well I have an issue...


    Adam Warlock is not a "younger" character. Well literally he is because he was made, but in the comics he generally has a much older look to him and is a wise but head strong being. This is why I wanted either to have Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister, Game of Thrones) play him or a reimagining of the character with Matthew McConaughey. Much older age range right? So that got me thinking as to why they specifically went for a younger looking actor, besides just wanting to keep him around awhile. Are they making him the "space Vision" for the Young Space Avengers?

   


    Let me back up and count some possible members. Ms. Marvel is about to have a show on Disney+ in early 2022 and it will lead up to her appearance in Captain Marvel's second movie The Marvels. Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel is going to be played by Iman Vellani and she embodies this role perfectly. Ms. Marvel is a gigantic Captain Marvel super fan girl as she idolizes her. Well it sounds like she might be going to space with her in The Marvels. She chose to go because she was a fan of Captain Marvel, and then she chose to stay because she saw the universe needed her help. So potential member, check.


    Samuel Alexander aka Nova is a potential character that will 100% be introduced shortly to the MCU. He finds his fathers Black Nova Helmet and it imbues him with the power of the Nova force from the planet Xandar from the first Guardians film. It is the place that Thanos destroyed off screen when he shows up at the beginning of Infinity War to steal the Power Infinity Stone. Well we will probably deal with this in GotG Vol. 3, just like in the comics Rocket and Gamora can find him searching for his fathers helmet on Xandar and they can train him. Potential member, check.

   


    Baby/Teen Groot, no not the previous ones, the new ones. GotG Vol. 3 has already been slightly spoiled by the actor himself Vin Diesel because he said we will see a new "Alpha Groot" form in the film. So maybe we this, Groot goes home to be king of his homeworld and we are left with a new Groot sapling once again. This could be a potential member, check.


    These three plus Adam Warlock makes a great start to this potential Young Space Avengers. They also could very easily introduce either of these two characters in The Marvels, Hulkling who is a Kree/Skrull hybrid or Anelle the daughter of the ruler of the Skrull Empire. With these characters laid out it feels like a very possible next space film series for the MCU, with James Gunn likely through with the Guardians of the Galaxy for now.

Or Vivarium is wild and wacky plays with deep concepts of reality but ultimately is not coherently done within the movie. WandaVision : Disney's First MCU TV Show - What to Expect and Theories

      Disney+ launched November 12th 2019, and has exploded across the world and now has over 60 million subscribers world wide. With the launch of Disney+ the streaming platform put out "The Mandalorian" as the flagship tv show for the service. "The Mandalorian" was a gigantic hit success but has really been the only smash hit show from the streaming service, but that might soon change. One thing in common with The Mandalorian is that WandaVision will supposedly have a Disney Gallery behind the scenes show about it as well. "WandaVision" still has a secret/vague release date on "winter 2020"and is going to be the MCU's first Kevin Feige produced tv show that is directly tied into the MCU. Fans like myself that adored the Marvel Netflix shows and ABC's Agents of Shield / Agent Carter have been bummed for years at their very loose adjacency to the mainline MCU cannon.
