Spider-Man No Way Home Theory : What if we are being deceived once again by Feige?

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! Today we are going to be discussing a theory I have been mulling over recently. Before I get into it I want to give a big warning, this post has SEVERE spoilers from possible leaks, rumors, and speculations. Fair warning, go read my Spider-Man movie ranking here instead if you do not want to be spoiled. Still here? Okay here is my theory..

I think we, fans scoopers everyone, are being once again deceived by Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, and all parties involved. There have long been rumors about Spider-Man No Way Home bringing in Tobey McGuire and Andrew Garfield back to their roles of Peter Parker, and a multitude of Spider-Villains as well. Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina made sure to tease and spoil their return, then the No Way Home trailer "confirmed" many more. There have been "leaks" pointing toward Rhino and Lizard returning as well. This theory is not dismissing ANY of that, they will be in the movie and I am sure the second trailer will confirm even more rumors. I just think there is another shoe to drop.

But what has been a common thread to Phase Four of Marvel Studios projects thus far? Deception, misdirection, and sometimes just plain lying. Quick rundown of what I mean:

WandaVision - Mephisto / Agatha / special cameos

TFATWS - Will he wont he with the shield / Agent 13 Power Broker

Loki - Just ALL of it, all the way down to the trailers just completely re-editing scenes

Black Widow - A literal movie about spies and espionage and a group of people being brainwashed / post credit scene is literally someone being lied to and deceived twisting the truth

Shang-Chi - Wenwu was literally lied to and deceived in the film by a disembodied voice like how Feige plays leakers and scoopers on occasion.

Now there is more, looking forward with the upcoming Eternals, I am not sure enough people even know enough about their story to deceive fans but IN movie it has demi gods that have just been living with humans hidden for seven thousand years in plain sight, aka deception and lying. Hawkeye will continue this, obviously picking up from Black Widow, having Yelena thinking Clint killed Natasha and hunting him down (amongst other things). And looking even further forward I see this as a set up for the Thunderbolts coming forward as the new super "hero" team being run by Ross and Val. Thor 4 Gorr hunting down "gods" because they are false idols and that deception let his people die. I mean no explanation needed for Secret Invasion. Etcetera etcetera, see the theme now?

So how does this apply to Spider-Man No Way Home? I think we are currently be deceived into thinking this is only a multiverse movie with Peter teaming up with other Peter's to take on a multiverse villain roster of:

Willem Dafoe - Green Goblin

Alfred Molina - Doc Ock

Jamie Foxx - Electro

Thomas Haden Church - Sandman

Rhys Ifans - The Lizard

Paul Giamatti -Rhino

This roster could even be bigger than we think with Tom Hardy's Venom, or Jared Leto's Morbius. Let us not forget Michael Keaton IS in Morbius.

But what if it is something more? I'll try to explain. My full plot breakdown for Spider-Man No Way Home will not come out for awhile because we still have much to learn, I just wanted to get ahead of this theory. So simply think of it like this, what if this is just a first/second act set up? Very quickly rundown of the plot (that I am sure my opinion will change on). The movie opens with the end of FFH, PP and MJ escape, cops show up to his house take he and aunt May and all his friends in, deal with cops, released on bail (Happy pays), goes about life and gets hounded at school. Peter goes to Strange for help, Strange agrees. This is the weird part right now, this is a "simple" memory spell not a multiverse effecting spell. Peter finds out the multiverse has been leaking (thanks a lot Sylvie lol) but Strange has been picking off multiversal villains that have come through and trapped them in a magic prison box. It is literally Doctor Strange's job to protect this reality. Strange does the spell, Peter interferes trying to get certain people to remember, but once it is finished it takes time to go into effect. Strange and Peter talk about the box, Pete says its messed up he should let them go back to their own universes. Then everyone forgets who he is, possibly including Strange. Peter steals the box, Strange goes after him and the box gets opened. At some point Strange is going to leave (probably to deal with Shuma-Gorath for MoM) and leave Peter to deal with these villains because he screwed it up, probably saying here is a magical object/spell that will let him send them back to their own universes. We find out it was not just villains in there, both Sony Peter Parkers were in there too (would be awesome if Blade and vampires were as well). The three of them team up and take down these villains. They return them to their proper universes and the Peters leave as well.

But there is a lot of movie left, Peter needs to still deal with the fall out of the last movie. Just because people forgot his identity being revealed (or maybe it gets reversed) that still happened Strange did not rewind time and change it from happening. Peter is still a wanted criminal, can't forget something on file, The evidence is just now tainted because people forgot about him. We get a court case of Peter proving his "innocence" with Matthew Murdock as his lawyer. And then we all think everything is fine and happy until of course not it isn't this is still Peter, and the MCU Sinister Six is revealed. Who is that?

    Michael Keaton -Vulture

    Bokeem Woodbine - Shocker

    Michael Mando - Scorpion

    Jake Gyllenhaal - Mysterio

    Numan Acar - Chameleon

But who is the sixth member? There have been rumors of a Vincent D'Onofrio Kingpin return. Maybe they accelerate the Flash Thompson storyline and part of the Venom symbiote comes through during this multiversal leaking. Or maybe all those Kraven the Hunter theories come true. Personally my favorite idea, Donald Glover returning as Prowler. This would once again set up Miles, even possibly bringing him in for SP4. Maybe Aaron Davis went crazy and became the prowler during the blip escalating from petty crimes to full fledged super villain.

This theory is just stating this movie ends setting up SP4 being Spider-Man versus the real MCU Sinister Six, while leaving giant villains like Doc Ock, Green Goblin etcetera to being set up to be their own MCU casting down the line. I would imagine Peter never even learns their identities in No Way Home because he has zero connection to them and it could possibly ruin those potential future stories.
