The Top 10 Greatest Football Movies of All Time

Image
Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! With football season coming to a close I figured this might be a good time to talk about the best football movies of all time, so we all know what to watch that first weekend without football in February. Over the years there have been over 140 films centered around America's favorite gladiator sport, football. Sadly though, for some reason we hit a huge stride from the 1980's through the early 2000's of making some good some excellent films about the game, but then the sports documentary took over the landscape. This list will not cover any football documentaries by the way. Once the sports documentary took over the landscape, I became worried we would not get any more classic football films, but a few recently have given me hope. On to the list! 10. The Replacements (2000) IMDb Score: 6.6 Trailer The Replacements is a 2000 film that hyper fictionalized the NFL's 1987 lockout, where owners hired replacement players while the leagu...

#HLSBets CFB Week 10 Recap, Rundown, Top 25 and More!

Welcome back to #HLSBets on HLS Entertainment! This was a weird weekend of just average football played by most of the country. We had a couple big upsets, but most people called them so it is hard to hang on them too much as no team not named Georgia really pulled away from the pack. We keep joking this is 2007 all over again with the chaos but even in 2007 we did not have a sure fire #1 team like Georgia to prop up the season on. This is just a weird year of parity. I am Harold L Stokes and can be found posting public betting sheets on Twitter  @HaroldLStokes  and you can always message me on there to join the #HLSBets private Bonus Sheet weekly, or even hop on for the rest of the season at a special discounted price! This special offer WILL include the bowl season sheets! DM me for more details! On to the Rundown!     No top teams playing on the weekdays so our rundown kicks off with the only great team in college football Georgia, who had a "scare" ...

Who are the favorites? We all assume the Chiefs and Mahomes and then who? Is 70 year old Tom Brady still just going to keep churning and killing people? I will focus on just the AFC in this post and the NFC in the other but it is just crazy to see how wide open the NFL is this year.     Who is the second best team in the AFC this year? We can get it out of the ay all say Chiefs 1, but who is n...

#HLSBets Preseason Win Total Bets Report Card

Image
Welcome back #HLSBets followers we are currently in the long dark time of the offseason that has been especially rough with no NFL Combine but with the NFL Draft around the corner we have some stuff to talk about.       Today we are going to be looking back into the #HLSBets two NFL season preview blogs that came out early September last year. In these blogs I went division by division predicting win totals and advising on whether or not you should bet the Vegas line for those totals.      Now in this blog we are going to be grading them. Check and see how well we did, check what information we can glean from the mistakes and move forward for this years bets. I might do a mini win totals blog soon if I see crazy Vegas numbers but as of right now we are planning to not touch the 2021 season totals until late this summer. #HLSBets Super Bowl Preview

Image
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5:30pm CBS O/U: 56 (opened 56.5 so trending down) Winner: Chiefs -160 -3, Bucs  +135 +3 (opened -165+145, -+3.5)  Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday, the final day of the football season. This year has been one hell of a mess with Covid and the Browns and Bills actually being good, hell must have frozen over. Tom Brady left New England after over two decades of freezing his butt off in Foxborough and turned a 7-9 team into a possible Super Bowl winning team. Patrick Mahomes is slowly becoming the most iconic person that sounds like Kermit the Frog (including Jim Henson) who with a win today that would put him at 7 playoff wins compared to his EIGHT TOTAL REGULAR SEASON LOSSES. We are in rarified air here, the GOAT versus the phenom freak. As a fair reminder one of Patrick Mahomes Eight total regular season losses was to Tom Brady and the Patriots, as well as his only playoff loss came at the hands of Tom Brady in overtime.    ...

#HLSBets : "I Should've Won That!!" Volume 1.

Image
Welcome to the first ever "I Should've Won That!!",  I will be doing mini dives into bets that I lost and and why of course, I should've won that. But this won't just be about me, I want your input every week! I will tweet out on either Sunday Night or Monday morning something along the line of  "what was your worst football betting loss this weekend?" under the normal #HLSBets hashtag so we can find it and discuss each week.  Well here we go First off for my bets I should have won were the three moved/canceled games that I definitely would have gone 3-0 in of course. Quick side bar for those that do not know, on all of my sheets I put out full standard betting games and that means I put my bet for the Total, Money Line, and the Spread of each game. CFB Texas A&M not covering versus LSU was one of the most aggravating things I have ever watched. The spread I had was -15 and the final score was 20-7. The Aggies average scoring output on offense is ove...

2020 AFC Preview: Division Winners and Win Totals!

Image
2020 AFC Preview Tom Brady is gone, the Patriots have won the AFC East forever, Buffalo is going to be breaking tables as AFC EAST division champs before week 15. Colts about to shock the world with Phillip Rivers torching the AFC South Big Ben back healthy and trim, time to challenge the Ravens for the AFC North title, do not be shocked if that amazing Steelers defense leads them deep in the playoffs MEANWHILE the AFC North also has the Browns finally with a competent head coach and the Division will be the toughest in the entire league once again. No Von Miller no chance the Broncos contend for double digit wins, though the offense will be much improved with Jerry Jeudy added to that offense. The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL but can the bring the intensity needed to win week in week out? AFC South 1. Indianapolis Colts: 12-4 (Last Year: 7-9)     Win Total: 9.5 OVER 2.Tennessee Titans: 9-7 (Last Year: 9-7)     Win Total: 9 PUSH STAY AWAY 3. Houston Texa...
