#HLSBets Preseason Win Total Bets Report Card

   Welcome back #HLSBets followers we are currently in the long dark time of the offseason that has been especially rough with no NFL Combine but with the NFL Draft around the corner we have some stuff to talk about.

     Today we are going to be looking back into the #HLSBets two NFL season preview blogs that came out early September last year. In these blogs I went division by division predicting win totals and advising on whether or not you should bet the Vegas line for those totals. 

    Now in this blog we are going to be grading them. Check and see how well we did, check what information we can glean from the mistakes and move forward for this years bets. I might do a mini win totals blog soon if I see crazy Vegas numbers but as of right now we are planning to not touch the 2021 season totals until late this summer.

AFC SOUTH

Team: Colts

Prediction: 12-4

Total: 9.5 OVER

2020 Outcome: 11-5 OVER cashed


Team: Titans

Prediction: 9-7

Total: 9 STAY AWAY

2020 Outcome: 11-5 no bet


Team: Texans

Prediction: 7-9

Total:7.5 STAY AWAY

2020 Outcome: 4-12 no bet


Team: Jaguars

Prediction: 0-16

Total: 4.5 UNDER

2020 Outcome: 1-15 UNDER cashed 

    2-0 in the division, stayed away from Texans and Titans due to not trusting them to perform either way which is smart when betting totals. There are plenty of bets do not force bad bets. But probably a safe guess that Houston will be an under this year, and maybe we see the Titans stay strong with another year of Head Coach Vrabel.



AFC EAST

Team: Bills

Prediction: 13-3

Total: 9 OVER

Team: New England Patriots

Prediction: 10-6

Total: 9 STAY AWAY

Team: Dolphins

Prediction: 5-11

    Another 2-0 division with the Bills OVER and Jets UNDER. The Dolphins could have been an easier over I just did not trust them. Second year of Tua with a good draft could maybe have them challenging the Bills for the division with how strong their defense should be again.



AFC NORTH

Team: Ravens

Prediction:13-3

Total: 11.5 OVER

2020 Outcome: 11-5 OVER MISSED


Team: Steelers

Prediction: 11-5

Total: 9.5 OVER

2020 Outcome: 12-4 OVER cashed


Team: Cleveland 

Prediction: 10-6

Team: Bengals

Prediction: 3-13

    3-1 first total missed, but can you really blame me? The Ravens going 11-5 was disappointing to everyone. 11.5 should have been an easy over but they lost multiple games they shouldn't have. Assuming he is healthy and they draft him some protection, Joe Burrow and the Bengals might be an easy OVER next season if they get another low total line.

 


AFC WEST

Team: Chiefs

Prediction: 11-5

    Another 2-0 I was on fire. The Chiefs should have been an easy OVER I just stayed away out of precaution, reminder you do not have to make the bet, only bet ones you are confident in (responsibly). Chargers I am calling now will be such a weird team next year, they are going to make Phillip Rivers proud with late game comebacks, this team should have been so much better but a rookie QB and plentiful injuries held them back.

    1-2 my first losing division. The 49ers were one of my preseason Super Bowl teams I was hyped for them. Then they crashed as burned, Super Bowl hangover is too real and I was an idiot for not sticking to my gut about that. The Rams still had amazing players on defense good for them bouncing back, this season will be very interesting to watch with a new QB in town.

    2-1 I really need to learn to not trust the Vikings, honestly I was right in my prediction that Justin Jefferson would have a huge impact but wrong that it would lead to wins. Kirk Cousin lead teams can just be like that sometimes. I still have no idea what was happening with the Packers total being so low but I am happily counting that cash. Anything under 10 and a healthy Aaron Rodgers I am taking OVER any day.

    2-1 wow this division was horrible. The entire NFC East was embarrassing last season. The Cowboys at least have the injury excuse but the entire division was a laughing stock that had people calling for changing how the playoffs work because letting anyone in from this division was embarrassing for the NFL.

    Over all I am very happy with the totals betting record but I definitely need to remember never trust the Falcons or Kirk Cousins for 2021. Going 9-1 in the AFC is crazy and near perfect but was necessary with the barely above average 7-5 NFC totals. Winning 16 of your 22 NFL Team totals bets is nothing to scoff at but I want more for 2021. Back to the film room

HLS Movie Awards Top 160 Movies of 2022 Part 2! 100-51

    Welcome back to the HLS Movie Awards! Today we are going through the Top 160 movies of 2022, and this list shall cover 100 thought 51. This is a really weird chunk of the list because as you will see, there are a LOT of good movies here. I have been calling it for a long time that 2022 will be an all-time year of film and I think this section really shows it. So many times, even for myself, as I wrote out names I was like "__ is this low?" but there were just that many good movies this year.
