#HLSBets CFB Week 10 Recap, Rundown, Top 25 and More!
Welcome back to #HLSBets on HLS Entertainment! This was a weird weekend of just average football played by most of the country. We had a couple big upsets, but most people called them so it is hard to hang on them too much as no team not named Georgia really pulled away from the pack. We keep joking this is 2007 all over again with the chaos but even in 2007 we did not have a sure fire #1 team like Georgia to prop up the season on. This is just a weird year of parity. I am Harold L Stokes and can be found posting public betting sheets on Twitter @HaroldLStokes and you can always message me on there to join the #HLSBets private Bonus Sheet weekly, or even hop on for the rest of the season at a special discounted price! This special offer WILL include the bowl season sheets! DM me for more details! On to the Rundown!
No top teams playing on the weekdays so our rundown kicks off with the only great team in college football Georgia, who had a "scare" early of Missouri being up 3-0 in the first quarter. But don't worry the Bulldogs squashed that hope by just piling it on starting in the second winning 43-6. Ohio State failed to step out and grab the #2 spot struggling with Nebraska but prevailing 26-17. Down goes the big pretender Wake Forest, just collapsing in the fourth giving up 24 unanswered points to North Carolina who won 58-55. Hugh Freeze returned to Oxford in a game that looked to be a blow out but like Wake, Ole Miss just did not have the killer instinct but they held on to win 27-14. Minnesota, shame on you for giving us hope and shame on me for believing, the oars have been broken Illinois won 14-6.
Pitt showed off their just horrendous defense in a game against Duke that was just way too close for too long before pulling away to win 54-29. Cincy brought out yet another lackluster effort beating Tulsa 28-20, I do not respect this team. A team that lost to that respect-less team Notre Dame took care of business and sank Navy 34-6. Is Oklahoma State good? They refuse to give us reason to believe so but this time their defense proved to be too much for West Virginia in their 24-3 victory. It is year two games like this are expected for Dave Aranda and Baylor as they lose one they shouldn't have, 28-30 TCU.
The game of the weekend that was just disrespected by ESPN not getting Gameday, Texas A&M hosted Auburn. The Aggies dominated and brought the Bo Nix hype back down to earth in their 20-3 victory. BYU played a team most people had no clue even existed in Idaho State and they took care of business in a game no one watched 59-14. Is Wisconsin primed to play upset in the Big 10 championship? This team is hitting its stride in their 52-3 demolishing of Rutgers. Ah Michigan State, I feel bad for this team held together with wax as they flew too close to the College Football Playoffs and lost 29-40 to Purdue. You were fun to root for Sparty.
We all saw it coming, Arkansas invited the Mississippi State Bulldogs to town and upset them 31-28. NC State is living dangerously right now and I feel like they could fall out soon but they held it together to beat Florida State 28-14. Speaking of a team that looks like it could fall apart, what is going on in Tuscaloosa? Alabama was primed to whip LSU and take revenge on the coach and team they always have bad blood with but just could not find the redzone to save their lives in the second half, but they held on to win 20-14. Another game we talked about calling this upset, Kentucky hosted Tennessee but they just could not stop Hendon Hooker as he threw for 316 and 4 TDs in the Vols 45-42 win.
We are just waiting for Iowa's full on collapse at this point. The Hawkeyes just barely held on 17-12 over Northwestern. Man people were wrong about Fresno apparently as Boise State just came into town and destroyed them 40-14, just a leaky defense giving up one big play after another. Oregon had every chance possible this week to hop into that #2 spot just like Ohio State but in a game we thought they might run up the score they struggled to beat Washington 26-16. Michigan beat Indiana 29-7 at home and are just slowly chugging along hoping Michigan State drops another game. San Diego State traveled to Hawai'i (always difficult) and survived 17-10.

College Football Playoff Ranking Reaction
I want to let you know this is going to be split into its own blog going forward so I do not have to wait until the rankings come out to post the weekend recap, so look out for that next week! Not too many surprises here this week let us work are way backwards! First off Arkansas has no reason being in here at 25, if they win this week over LSU and move to 7-3 then I might think about it. Utah is about the exact same situation, 6-3 Utah doesn't do it for me I do not care that you bullied Stanford there are much more deserving teams. Well would ya look at that UTSA is ranked just like I said they would be after not being ranked last week. I am fine with SDSU being ranked they are in my honorable mentions below.
Completely fine with Pitt and Iowa being ranked right about here. Listen happy for you Purdue but there is no reason for 6-3 Purdue to be #19. 18-15 I am happy with but BYU is too high at #14 to me. Baylor is fine but Wake Forest is still too high for my liking. 11-1 are the right teams, not quite the order I would personally like. Texas A&M deserves to be higher. It is weird to have Michigan over Michigan State and then have Oregon over Ohio State, just seems backwards but the committee has always been what have you done for me lately. My one main gripe in the top tier teams is Oklahoma State deserves to be higher, you can say I am overreacting having them at #6 but #10 feels way too low. Also still no Coastal?
Honorable Mentions for #HLSBets Top 25
App state 7-2 (LWNR) W 48-14 Arkansas State
Louisiana 8-1 (LWNR) W 21-17 Georgia State
SDSU 8-1 (LWNR) W 17-10 Hawai'i
Purdue 6-3(LWNR) W 40-29 Michigan State
Bets I Should Have Won
Heisman Frontrunners
Kenneth Walker III +125
Bryce Young +225
CJ Stroud +500
I am currently shook at Kenneth Walker III still having the top spot. Maybe the big betting money is backing him right now because there is just no faith in Bryce or CJ pulling away from the pack but I disagree. I think at this moment Bryce Young will win the Heisman. His case is strong he is a very top tier QB in all of college football statically, and I want to add another dimension to that. When was the last time Alabama had a back field this bad? Brian Robinson is perfectly serviceable but he just had a pitiful outing for 13 carries for 18 yards. If you have watched a single Alabama game this year you are aware this offensive line is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than they have had previously. It has been a HUGE drop off. Alabama just had SIX rushing yards versus LSU Bryce Young was constantly running for his life like he has all season including getting sacked four times. Bryce Young deserves a ton of credit for still playing at an elite level this year.
Sell Your Stock In
Michigan State
Wake Forest
Oklahoma
I am getting out ahead of this Michigan State take. I am not sure they win this weekend versus Maryland and then they travel to Ohio State and host Penn State to end the season. They might end 8-4. All I am saying.
Wake Forest I loved contemplating what the heck to do with you should you win out but you took care of that for us. This team was confusing to watch them week each week but they finally had a fourth quarter collapse. Sorry to see you go you were so close.
Oklahoma.. I think we all wanted to latch onto the Caleb Williams hype train when he took over but this team just has a ton of issues, and it might finally be reflected in the final score this weekend as they travel to Baylor in a terrible 11am kickoff on Saturday.
Buy Stock In
Clemson
Penn State
Texas A&M playing Ole Miss this week
Another take I just want to get ahead on, Clemson might just go 9-3. I talked about it on the #HLSBets Bonus Sheet (reminder you can buy in now for a special price to include Bowl Season and Playoffs DM me on Twitter @HaroldLStokes) that I think this team is going to mess around and end up 9-3 and people will look back on this season as "not that bad". This team is still loaded with talent and at 6-3 they are about to end the season playing UConn and Wake Forest at home and traveling to South Carolina for the final week of the regular season. If NC State messes up like I think they might Clemson could seriously end right back in the ACC Championship game against Pitt or Virginia.
I said it last week, this Penn State team is better than their 6-3 record shows. They are another team that seriously could sneak up to be 9-3 to end the season playing Michigan and Rutgers at home before traveling to Michigan State.
I am just straight up calling this, Texas A&M is about to end 10-2, spoilers for the #HLSBets bonus sheet I believe they roll into Oxford and suffocate that Ole Miss offense just like they just did to Auburn. This team might be 12-0 if Calzada was the week one starter getting full reps all offseason. He is not a gamebreaker but he is very serviceable and we know this team is better than both Arkansas and Mississippi State right now.
Thank you so much for reading! Please do like and share on all social media I do love watching the clicks tick up! I mentioned it twice throughout so I will not push it again too much but right now you can get the rest of the regular season and buy into the full Bowl Bonus Sheet that includes the CFP for a special price. For those that did not buy in previous years the bowl sheet will have a breakdown of every single game of bowl season just like the Bonus Sheet does weekly!
