#HLSBets CFB Week 3 Recap, Top 25, Rundown and More!

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment and #HLSBets we just had another wild weekend of college football, lets talk about it! If you missed last weeks recap click here to read. Before we get into this weekend's rundown I want to remind you to be sure to follow me on twitter @HaroldLStokes. But why should you? That is where I post the weekly free public play sheets for #HLSBets! Every public sheet has usually four or more full standard betting games on it. A full standard betting game is when you bet the total, money line and spread for a single game, not a parlay just individual bets. This weekend we almost had a perfect week going 10-2 for the public play sheet but Virginia Tech ruined it, more of that in the Bets I Should Have Won section down below! On to the Rundown, deep breath!

Emory Jones and the Florida Gators deserve an apology for how much we clowned them in the first quarter against Alabama they were so close to tying it and forcing over time but end up losing 29-31 and close only counts in hand grenades and close contact covid exposures. Oklahoma continues to make a mockery out of themselves and their ranking only beating Nebraska 23-16. The Texas A&M offense put up points early then put it on auto pilot and coasted on their stellar defense to win 34-0 over New Mexico. We have all been made aware what a fraud Indiana is and the nation was just made aware of Cincinnati's fake top 10 ID and just removed themselves from playoff contention STRUGGLING to win 38-24. Country roads took my home run of a perfect public play week upsetting the definitely over ranked Virginia Tech 27-21.

    Just infuriating.

Coastal Carolina goes into Buffalo and survives 28-25, time to step it up or fall in the rankings. Michigan State is here to play ball, Mel Tucker's team just destroyed Miami 38-17 the U is definitely not back. Michigan beat up on a high school Illinois team 63-10 just steadily taking care of business. Notre Dame looks more and more worrisome every week but still take care of home field beating Purdue 27-13. Is Iowa really a top 5-10 team? Beating Kent State 30-7 made sure to take care of business but how long does the mask stay on? What is going on with this Ohio State team? Losing Justin Fields and other talent is not a good enough excuse when you are supposed to be a year in year out powerhouse of college football, they beat Tulsa 41-20 but a few more losses and people start asking if Ryan Day has coasted off what Urban built.

    Just saying.

Speaking of questions that need to be asked, what in the world is happening at Clemson? 14-8 over Georgia Tech is embarassing in a game you were favored by 28 points. Something has to give with this offense. Woo Pig, is it time we all put some respect on the Razorbacks? Maybe not it was just beating Georgia Southern 45-10 but it is something to keep an eye on. Mailman out, Heisman contender in, JT Daniels is worth a flier bet at +1000 coming back after a week of rest not missing a beat whipping the Gamecocks out 40-13. Oregon beat a high school team out of.. *checks notes* New York? Never heard of Stony Brook but congrats to y'all cashing a probable multi million dollar check to come get beat up 48-7, wonder if the players get a cent of it?

Game of the weekend SEC v Big Ten, Auburn traveled up to Penn State and dressed accordingly for the white out, still do not understate Penn State not wearing white to their own white out. Auburn had a shot to tie it up but I guess terrible play calling still comes from Auburn, Al. Yeah a Bo Nix fade was the right call.. The Tar Heels were in a back and forth brawl until they finally realized they have one of the best QBs in the country and might have found their bell cow back in TY Chandler as he goes OFF 20 carries for 198 and 2 TDs and a number one WR in  Josh Downs snagging 8 passes for 203 and 2 TDs. If this sleeping giant finally wakes up Clemson might be in trouble come December. Lane Kiffin just kept piling it on rebelling against the idea of taking your foot off the gas just flattening Tulane 61-21. One dream died and another awakened, Arizona State fell to BYU 17-27, do we have to take this BYU team serious now? Iowa State found their offense versus UNLV 48-3. And finally UCLA was sure to wear their sissy blue shirts losing to the scrappiest team in the country Fresno State 37-40.

Just an amazing weekend of ball, on to the updated #HLSBets Top 25!

Bets I Should Have Won

Virginia Tech versus West Virginia ruined my perfect #HLSBets public sheet. I will put the blame entirely on VT, congrats to the Mountaineers but come on guys I was so close to 12-0. No one wants to hear about someone complain that their amazing week was not perfect but it was annoying. So instead I am using this section to discuss Mike Norvell and Florida State. His tenure started off bad and has yet to get good, remember how he immediately lost the locker room and players were speaking out against him? And now FSU is 0-3 off a loss to WAKE FOREST... Just embarassing, I would not be shocked if I have to edit this section before posting because he has already been fired like I did last week with Clay Helton. By the way that is Mike Norvell in the picture.

Heisman Frontrunners

Bryce Young +175

Matt Corral +250

Malik Willis +800

JT Daniels +1000

Bryce and Matt Corral just keep separating from the pack in the Heisman odds I hope you got in early as it seems to just get worse from here. Aside from either one of their odds dropping once one of them losses in two weeks when they play each other of course. But that is a risky game to play. Matt Corral and Malik Willis are playing the we have to prove we are legit game meanwhile Alabama QB Bryce Young is playing on easy mode. I added a fourth option this week because Georgia Bulldog JT Daniels really might be worth a dropping a few bones on just in case at +1000. Matt Corral really has his work out for him, out play Bryce Young on 10/2 and beat Malik Willis on 11/6 he might as well buy his flight to NYC if they do not drop any other games (aside from Alabama) by mid November.

Sell Your Stock In

Mike Norvell

Mississippi State

Cincy

Already talked hot seat Norvell. Mississippi State fans I am sorry to have to put you here. Yes you were absolutely screwed by the refs, but take care of business and you are never in that circumstance. A SEC team should never be in danger of that situation versus a team like Memphis I was so close to giving them some love in the top 25 if they had taken care of Memphis but no matter how high powered that passing attack is they just can not find the endzone. You throw the ball 67 times and only score 29 points? Embarrassing. Now Cincy, you had your shot to embarrass a bad Big ten team in Indiana and you really really struggled so much more than the final score showed. This was your shot to be able to say come December "remember they beat up on a Big Ten team" when the inevitable schedule measuring contest happens when discussing the playoffs.

Buy Stock In

BYU

Penn State / Big Ten

JT Daniels Heisman race

I made a joke about Zach Wilson is not walking out of that tunnel to play Utah and I immediately lost those bets, BYU won and then Zach Wilson has thrown about 27 interceptions in the first two weeks of the NFL season. Great timing Harold. But, do we have to take this team seriously?? 3-0 and their next big tests are Boise State week 6 and Baylor week 7, Virginia week 9, USC week 13... is this team a threat to the CFP? It does somehow always play out in CFB that the year after you lose the "dude" you had at QB your team can go off. Penn State is in a weird situation, any other year we would be talking about they are on a collision course with Ohio State to fight for the playoff spot. But not 2021. Second week in October they have to travel to #5 Iowa, two weeks later travel to Ohio State not to mention they still have 3-0 Michigan and Michigan State left on the schedule. The Big Ten is looking strong right now. I am buying stock in the conference as a whole but also Penn State, if they survive this upcoming gauntlet they are for sure rightful contenders.
