Welcome back to #HLSBets on HLS Entertainment! Today we are going to discuss this past weekend of College Football, go through the rundown of what the top teams did, reveal the #HLSBets updated top 25, go through bets I should have won, cover the Heisman race, and discuss whose stock is climbing and whose is falling! Before we get started I want you to make sure you follow me on Twitter @HaroldLStokes so you do not miss out on the weekly free #HLSBets Public Sheets. My Twitter is also where you can dm me to join the #HLSBets Bonus sheet each week. It is only $10 weekly, or right now you can buy in for the rest of the regular season plus Conference Championship games AND the entire bowl and playoff season for a special price. But to get that price you have to DM and say you saw it on the blog! On to the Rundown!

Our weekend kicked off early on Thursday with the best NFL QB scouting game of the season, Sam Howell and North Carolina traveled to Pittsburgh to face off with Kenny Pickett. To me it is hard to say who "won" between the pair, but we know Pitt took home the W 30-23. Our weekday football was not finished there as we had Cincinnati once again be in a game way too close for a "top tier" team in the nation. But do not be fooled by this final score Cincy was much more in control of this game than they usually are, still not great to give up 21 points in the last 20 minutes of the game. Alabama took care of New Mexico State in an ugly way winning by 56 points 59-3. This game was more important than we realize with Bryce Young padding some stats for his Heisman resume.

Michigan, shocked me personally, beat Penn State 21-17 on the road, with a late game 47 yard bomb from McNamara with three minutes to go. Penn State just had nothing for this Wolverine defense having to kick three field goals. Well it finally happened, seems to be a theme this year, Oklahoma lost to Baylor 14-27. After just about 10 weeks of barely scrapping by the Sooners finally were handed their first L. Speaking of being handed a huge L, Auburn gave up FORTY STRAIGHT POINTS to Mississippi State blowing their 28-3 lead and lost 34-43. FORTY STRAIGHT goodness, more on that larter. How good is Wisconsin? No I do not think we should be hyping them for beating Northwestern 35-7, but we have to talk about them eventually, my guess it will be before they head to Indy.

Just like I said last week breaking down the rankings, Utah has NO BUSINESS being in the top 25. Utah traveled to ARIZONA and STRUGGLED to win 38-29. Someone who looked to be struggling for about a quarter was the Georgia Bulldogs. At the end of the first quarter Tennessee was beating Georgia 10-7...but then Georgia scored 34 straight points before the game ended 41-17. Ohio State took care of a pretty decent Purdue team handedly 59-31 as the Buckeyes round out are pretty clear cut top three teams with Georgia and Alabama. Remember when Iowa climbed to the top 3? Well they are currently struggling after being so over ranked but snuck out a victory over Minnesota 27-22. UTSA took care of Southern Miss `27-17 in a very inconsequential game but it is always fun to root for these small teams hanging on to their undefeated records as they move on to 10-0.

Michigan State did what they were supposed to beating Maryland 40-21, but they really struggled with Taulia throwing for 350 threw the air. I mean I know exactly what happened Calzada finally came crashing back to earth  and had a pretty bad game, but I am still shocked at how well this Ole Miss offense did against this really great Aggie defense. Ole Miss won 29-19. No Armstrong absolutely no problem, the Fighting Irish waltz through Virginia 28-3. Oh crap, was last week a fluke? Or is the entirety of the ACC just a joke this season as Wake Forest beats NC State 45-42? I will let you decide.

Arkansas, I was so close to ranking you but you had to make this an overtime game. The Hogs should've taken care of this LSU team a bit easier than 16-13. Oklahoma State might make the playoffs, just get prepared for the Oregon v Cowboys conversation. They just demolished TCU 63-17. Meanwhile the Oregon Ducks stumbled a bit facing off with Washington State but still won 38-24. San Diego State I keep thinking you and UTSA are going to mess this up but you held on with a 23-21 win over Nevada.

Bets I Should Have Won

Auburn giving up 40 straight points blowing a 28-3 lead.

AUBURN GAVE UP FORTY STRAIGHT POINTS BLOWING A 28 TO 3 LEAD. Really Auburn? Really? I was already bragging about these two easy W's (ML and -4.5 Spread), before they just absolutely fell apart. If this Auburn defense plays like this against Alabama they will lose by 70. Dear lord that was an embarrassment. I mean truly it is hard to get mad at this defense they only turned to ball over once, and it was a fumble near the very end of the game when it was out of hand. I guess get mad at the two missed field goals but who cares? Make them both and you still lose. It sure as heck wasn't Bo Nix fault, he threw for 377 and was beaten up pretty bad. I am trying my hardest to not just say it is entirely their defenses fault, I guess maybe some blame goes to the offense not being able to run the well good enough to run out the clock, but that doesn't allow FORTY UNANSWERED POINTS.

Heisman Frontrunners

Bryce Young +200

Kenneth Walker III +200

C.J. Stroud +250

I honestly see this as a two horse race, and both of them are quarterbacks. I mean people thought Kenneth Walker pulled away statistically against Michigan but it really is not true if you go through rushing stats, there are so many running backs within striking distance to him in every category. And let us be honest here, he isn't even the best running back in his conference and I see him officially losing the Heisman this week in Columbus when Treveyon Henderson likely outperforms him. But hey, I would be THRILLED to get to watch be being proved wrong and Walker having his Heisman moment running all over Ohio State and them pulling the upset.

But right now in my opinion it really might be Young's to lose. And he very well could lose it, it will come down to when Heisman voters fill out their ballots. If they actually wait until after the SEC Championship game, Young might seriously get humbled by the best defense college football has seen in years. Which leaves CJ Stroud right there to steal those votes, BUT it is looking like he will not have a cake walk either in Wisconsin's stout defense.

Sell Your Stock In

Oklahoma

Penn State

Coastal Carolina

Oklahoma is not done for the season or the college football playoffs by ANY means. They just lost to a very solid Baylor team on the road, but they will have another shot on the road to hop right back in the discussion against Oklahoma State in Bedlam. I just think this might be the Cowboys season to take over the Big 12 in a fitting matter as Oklahoma and Texas leaves.

Penn State man, I really tried to believe and hype y'all, and what did I get? Just blowing a lead that was going to be in my Bets I Should Have Won section but Auburn's loss was so egregious it bumped it out.

A team I have had a very special place in my heart since learning about the fighting demon chickens, Coastal Carolina really let me down this week losing to Georgia State 42-40. I mean come on Georgia State? That hurt. Time for the fighting mullets to regroup for 2022.

Buy Stock In

Ole Miss

Wake Forest (Clemson)

Notre Dame

Ole Miss, great job figuring out that Aggie defense. It would take Alabama losing out but the Rebels are technically still alive for the SEC Championship game, but I do not think we need to seriously consider that. Mainly because Ole Miss needs to coast through Vandy then get ready for the best Egg Bowl matchup in years. In the preseason I predicted the egg bowl might be the game to decide who reaches 10 wins between State and Ole Miss and we are getting just about that aside from a few missteps from the Bulldogs along the way.

Wake Forest/Clemson because congrats Wake you proved you were not just a joke beating NC State, BUT that now makes this weekends matchup with Clemson even better for the Tigers as I have been predicting they are going to end up 9-3. And if NC State loses to North Carolina on Friday the 26th then the Wake Forest @ Boston College game will decide if Wake or Clemson goes to the ACC Championship. Wouldn't it be some bull crap if Clemson ends up 10-3 this season.

Notre Dame is about to go up against 3-7 Georgia Tech at home, then travel to (currently) 3-7 Stanford to end their regular season... so when 11-1 Notre Dame is sitting there selection Sunday I want to proudly laugh at them for missing the playoffs because they do not have a conference championship. YES it absolutely matters, it is an entire extra game. Join a conference already ND.
