#HLSBets CFB Week 6 Recap, Top 25, Rundown and More!

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment and #HLSBets! Week 6 was an incredible weekend of football. We did have college football in 2020 but with small to no crowds it did not feel like this, I am very happy to have college football back. Man y'all have to let me brag for a second after just RAKING in the money this weekend going 25-7 betting college football, just an absolute heater. To join in on the hot streak follow me on Twitter @HaroldLStokes where I post every weeks public sheet and you can dm me on there to join the bonus sheet list as well! On to the Rundown!

Coastal kicked off the college football weekend on Thursday mullet whipping Arkansas State 52-20. Cincy congrats on moving up the ranking, we appreciate for following through with your duties whipping Temple 52-3. This Arizona State team just continues to win, this time against Stanford 28-10, at what point are they taken seriously? Red River Shootout delivered on the name, this 55-48 Oklahoma win was exciting from start to finish, starting with clowning the Sooners and ending with horns down, something for everyone.

The Buckeyes continue to do the right things on their redemption tour beating Maryland 66-17, just have to keep this up. Michigan State wins yet again 31-13 over Rutgers, Kenneth Walker III leads the nation in rushing and we all live in the upside down. The two most exciting games of the weekend played at the same time, what a time for two TVs set up with Ole Miss barely hanging on to their pitiful defense and winning 52-51 over Arkansas. I guess Florida played Vanderbilt on Saturday, did you see a single clip covering the game during or afterwards? Me neither but for our weekly update Emory Jones outplayed Richardson yet again in their 42-0 victory. Ask any SEC fan, weird things happen on that field in Auburn. But Georgia powered through a couple flukes and end up winning with backup mailman Bennett 34-10.

This is now a Boise State appreciation post, thank you for beating BYU 26-17 so we can quit talking about the outlandish possibility of them going 12-0 and making the playoffs. I sincerely do not know what got in the waters over there but Wake Forest won, yet again just barely 40-37 over Syracuse in overtime. Speaking of weird undefeated teams, it is the 1980's again and the SMU Mustangs are 6-0 after coming back against Navy 31-24. Penn State QB Clifford goes down against Iowa and Iowa's slow rolling team finally pulled ahead in the 4th, take this game however you will but do not come pretending to me that Clifford was good to begin with.

Jack Coan was on a short leash and got pulled during the game, but his backup played so much worse he got to return to the game and lead the fighting Irish to a 32-29 win over the VT Hokies. Anyone seen the LSU Tigers? Last time I saw them they were heading to a special watering hole in the Bayou, Cats by 21 in their 42-21 victory. What is going on with San Diego State? They are undefeated but have no quality wins and do not have any quality games coming up, so I guess just check back in week 10? 31-7 win over New Mexico. It is hard to say who got dropped harder, Alabama or Deontay Wilder, let's just say it was a bad Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, 41-38 Aggies win and more importantly found some good QB play finally.

Bets I Should Have Won

Okay I REALLY have no room to complain I went 25-7 on Saturday I am very thankful and blessed.. BUT are you kidding me Texas?? I believed in you taking Texas Money Line +140 and +6.5 Spread. Just any one stop by this horrible Longhorn defense could have saved us. I refuse to get mad at Xavier Worthy's fumble, the man went off for 9 catches for 261 and 2 TDs. Like I said I do not have much anger this week for bets I should have won, so here is to Caleb Williams absolutely showing out when given the opportunity. You HAVE to make him the starter this week for TCU and then you can reevaluate the situation, if he gets a full week of starter reps and shows out again he has to be the permanent starter and Spencer Rattler enters the transfer portal; Notre Dame maybe?

Oh yeah and screw Lincoln Riley for not allowing Caleb Williams to be interviewed by Holly Rowe post game. In today's era of NIL he might have cost him tens of thousands of dollars in potential endorsements.

Heisman Frontrunners

Matt Corral +125

Bryce Young +225

Kenneth Walker III +700

Tanner Mordecai +10,000

And chaos has started to effect the Heisman odds once again. Bryce lost the top spot but notice is still a top tier favorite. Chaos really would have broken out if Ole Miss lost as well and Matt Corral's odds fell. Neither QB's teams poor performances were specifically their fault, aside from a slightly off throw here or there and Young's way too high handoff attempt that led to a fumble but nothing to kill their odds. Ole Miss and Alabama's defenses were just pitiful on Saturday, but not even the same category of bad. Ole Miss' defense was significantly worse. The real issue for Alabama was a dreadful failure to keep drives alive (9/19 on third down) and could not score when it mattered.

Kenneth Walker III feels like odds jumped up specifically on him because no one in the country is sure who the best QB in the nation is any more. And with Walker leading the nation in rushing he is considered a safe bet right now. Now, do I think he could actually win it? No he is only on pace for 1826 yards and 18 TDs which is a very good season, but is it good enough to win the Heisman?

SMU QB Tanner Mordecai deserves significantly more respect than he has gotten thus far this season. Through six games he is 157/221 for 1893 yards and 26 touchdowns. This man is on pace for FIFTY-TWO TDs. Put some respect on his name.

BYU

Spencer Rattler as a Sooner

The Four Team CFP

This BYU team (like a few teams) has just been fluking their way through the season. Read their schedule so far, 24-16 win over Arizona, 26-17 win over Utah (the reason they got ranked have also lost to SDSU), 27-17 win over Arizona State (the reason they climbed), 35-27 win over USF, 34-20 over Utah State, and now a 17-26 loss to Boise State. We did see this coming and I should have stuck to my guns pointing this out before the Utah win, but they shut me up then and I had to take it until now.

Spencer Rattler's Sooner days might be just about over. I spoke about this a little in the "Bets I Should Have Won" section but I genuinely think this. There is zero chance he sticks around if he officially loses the starting job. I hope all things are peaceful and he sticks out the season, but if you told me come January he will be enrolled and on campus in South Bend I would not be shocked at all.

This season is 2007 all over again like we all have said many times, but this is why we need to expand the playoffs. I for one have been a fan of not having a committee at all (too many biases) and bringing back the BCS computer ranking systems and use that for an 8 team playoff. We were this close to possibly getting an expanded playoffs next season but the dumb alliance has that up in the air.

Texas A&M

Alabama

The Eight Team CFP

This feels like a given but it is the biggest story of the weekend. Texas A&M has been desperately missing just AVERAGE QB play. Oh how the Aggies have been wishing they had Kellen Mond this season again. Zach Calzada FINALLY came alive throwing 25/31 for 285 and 3 TDs with 1 INT. If Calzone Calzada can keep this up this is once again a very interesting team moving forward with how much chaos has happened this season.

Speaking of the biggest story of the weekend, I am seeing so many people trying to bury Alabama right now. I dropped them to 8 because they still control their own destiny but they need to prove they will do it, meanwhile the AP Poll only dropped them to 5. Do not be fooled into thinking their CFP hopes are anywhere close to being over. This was just a speed bump that this team could easily recover from, but they need to do some soul searching and going against the air raid bulldogs this week can help clear things up.

Okay I already talked about the four team playoff it desperately needs to go, why? Forget my rankings look at the AP Poll, would you be happy with a #1-4 playoff of Georgia, Iowa, Cincy and Oklahoma? Or would you be happier watching 1-8 matchups of:

#8 Michigan @ #1 Georgia

#7 Penn State @ #2 Iowa (rematch)

#6 Ohio State @ #3 Cincinnati

#5 Alabama @ #4 Oklahoma

Yes in my proposed plan the first round would rightfully be a home game, this would be a great reward for teams actually fighting for the top 4 spots because certain people insist adding spots would make the regular season mean less and this fixes that problem. You see the dumb problem idiots will rebel against this for? Yes we could end up with multiple teams from one conference and other conferences left out, good. Screw automatic playoff spots. We complain about it every single year with the NFL Playoffs, we need to make sure it does not worsen CFB too.
