CFB Power 5 Previews: SEC Win Totals

    Welcome back to #HLSBets on HLS Entertainment! This week we are going to look at EVERY team in the power 5 conferences, and the independents with a few extras thrown in, win total and discussing how I am betting it for each team. Last season I was 8-5 for SEC win totals with 1 stay away (Mississippi State). I am really looking forward as this season screams hope for so many teams in the SEC, who if the right things shake out for them they might be taking the jump forward their programs. Some teams looks to step forward and a few have new head coaches trying to revive former glory. Also there is Alabama and Georgia. SEC West


Alabama 

2021 Record: 13-2

Win Total O/U: 11.5

Bet: OVER

    I am SO excited for the November 12th matchup against Ole Miss as I think that game has a huge impact on so many teams. Ultimately, who REALLY stands a chance at beating Alabama that is on their schedule? A&M? Saban might hang 70 on them this year after this offseason. The Iron Bowl will always be a hard-fought game but this is the biggest mismatch between the two teams in some time.


Arkansas 

2021 Record: 9-4

Win Total O/U: 7

Bet: STAY AWAY 

    I really wish the BYU game was earlier in the season. I am not someone who is bought in this team at all, and I believe we will know exactly who this team is by the end of the Texas A&M game. They could very easily be 3-4 going into their bye week.


Auburn

2021 Record: 6-7

Win Total O/U: 5.5

Bet: STAY AWAY

    I think this team goes 5-7 or 4-8  but could easily end up at 6-6 based on talent alone. No SEC team will be afraid to play the Auburn Tigers this season and this bet comes down to do you think they can beat Penn State. I think there is too much up in the air with this team so I am staying away entirely.


LSU 

2021 Record: 6-7

Win Total O/U: 6.5

Bet: UNDER

    This could be a rough year for LSU. I think they can play spoiler for a lot of teams but at the end of the day Brian Kelly has a rough road ahead of him rebuilding this program. Bet the under or stay away. An optimistic thought for LSU fans? We all know this roster is filled with stud athletes even though SO many have transferred away, those who stayed will get their chance to shine and we could find a few diamonds in the rough.


Mississippi State 

2021 Record: 7-6

Win Total O/U: 6.5

Bet: OVER

    So we are on the same page, this is a flier for me. This is entirely based on this team brings a lot of guys back and were in so many close games last year losing some bad ones (Memphis). I am taking the over because I think this team is more dangerous than people get credit for BUT someone has to be a bottom in the SEC West team with Auburn so you could easily bet the under or just stay away from this bet entirely.


Ole Miss 

2021 Record: 10-3

Win Total O/U: 8

Bet: OVER

    I see this team for sure winning 7 of its first 8 games and potentially going 8-0. They just need 1-2 more wins after that with. 3 or their last 4 games are very much winnable games, I trust this team to get to 9 wins at minimum.


Texas A&M 

2021 Record: 8-4

Win Total O/U: 9

Bet: STAY AWAY

    This is a weird one, I do not trust that this team will win 10 games. They might but I see them winning 9 games exactly. I am not betting the over or under at 9. If you can get 8.5 or 9.5 bet accordingly.


SEC East


Vanderbilt 

2021 Record: 2-10

Win Total O/U: 2.5

Bet: OVER

    I mean what the heck, looking at their schedule SURELY they win 3 of their first 4 games (Hawaii, Elon, Wake Forest, NIU). Best thing about this bet is that you will know if you won it before the end of September.


Tennessee 

2021 Record: 7-6

Win Total O/U: 8

Bet: Under

    The Volunteers have 6 wins on the schedule to start off with. If this was 7.5 I would think about the over but I think this may end up splitting their games against Florida, LSU, Kentucky and South Carolina. If you think they can win 3 of those games for sure then take the over, I don't think they will.


South Carolina 

2021 Record: 7-6

Win Total O/U: 6.5

Bet: OVER

    I believe this team could be the upset alert team of the season. They have about 5 wins for sure on their schedule with 4 other games I could realistically see being possible toss up games. Going 2-2 in those for wins this bet, I will take those odds. I guess I should put this here for South Carolina fans, I am going to be rooting for y'all to win a bunch this year, do not make me regret it with your asinine "we are the real USC" crap, no you aren't.


Missouri 

2021 Record: 6-7

Win Total O/U: 5

Bet: UNDER

    This team will be very lucky to win 5 games. If Missouri has a shot at winning 5+ games it has much more to do with the teams they play having misfortunes than it does them being good enough to win. I am not predicating future collapses when this is the team that will collapse.


Kentucky 

2021 Record: 10-3

Win Total O/U: 8

Bet: UNDER

    I ultimately think this total number is right on and they go 8-4, but I would not be shocked to see them go 7-5. I think they have 6 for sure wins on the schedule and have 5 winnable games after that. I just think they do not win 9 games. Let's temper the Will Levis expectations now guys, he is a very solid CFB QB not an elite guy.


Florida 

2021 Record: 6-7

Win Total O/U: 7.5

Bet: OVER

    They have five built in wins to the schedule SURELY this team can come up with 3 more. I am huge fan of what Billy Napier is going to turn this team into, that does not mean I think they win 10 games this season but they could very easily win 8.


Georgia 

2021 Record: 14-1

Win Total O/U: 11.5

Bet: OVER

    Honestly this schedule is very easy for the Bulldogs and unless they have just a huge locker room collapse this team should be undefeated going into the SEC championship. OR unless there is a new contender in the East this year... I am very much looking forward to finding out if Georgia can just reload once again and stay hungry after finally reaching the promised land and hoisting the trophy.

#HLSBets College Football Weekly Recap and Top 25 - Preseason Edition

Today will be a very brief version of our weekly recaps/previews as you just more so see the over view for the season, and how this will be formatted this year. CFB Power 5 Previews: Pac-12 Win Totals

This week we are going to look at EVERY team in the power 5 conferences, and the independents with a few extras thrown in, win total and discussing how I am betting it for each team. Last season I was 6-6 in the Pac 12, still making money but disappointing. There has been a lot of turnover at the powerhouse programs in the conference and that will have heavy ripple effects for the rest of the conference. It is so weird that there is no longer divisions in the Pac 12, not sure if I like it. First instinct was to hate it.
