Future of MCU's Spider-Man and Casting of the Sinister Six Part 1 !
Spider-Man and Batman are widely regarded as the two superheroes with the best rogues gallery of super villains. But sadly for the most part we have never seen them in their full glory on the big screen before. Batman has had amazing successes with Heath Ledger's Joker, Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow and Tom Hardy's Bane, but for the most part Spider-Man has had significantly less success. I personally loved Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn but he was not really comic accurate. We were able to watch Dafoe chew scenery as this mad villain more akin to Hobgoblin but never the true billionaire villain hiding in plain sight. Alfred Molina was really our best onscreen Spider-Man villain we have seen, in the movie's ability to take the character from the page and portray him accurately on screen.
We now have a very unique situation where we finally might be able to get this incredible crossover showing off the true depth of the villain bullpen in the MCU. In Spider-Man: Homecoming we saw Michael Keaton's incredible Vulture, they pulled off one of the goofiest comic book villains of all time grounding him and gave him a real backstory and connection to Tom Holland's Peter Parker. In Spider-Man Far: From Home Jake Gyllenhaal gave us the most obvious villain twist in movie history but his character is now "dead" (lol yeah right). Meanwhile in Homecoming we were teased MULTIPLE classic Spider-Man villains we have not yet seen come full circle and I believe this is the tee up by the immaculate Kevin Feige for Spider-Man 3 or 4 to finally give us a Spider-Man vs the Sinister 6.
SPOILERS FOR FAR FROM HOME
At the End of Spider-Man: Far From Home Peter Parkers identity is revealed to the public by the newest instalment of JK Simmons J Jonah Jameson, and the easy plot lay up for Spider-Man 3 (Home Run, Home sick, No Place Like Home, etc. pick your own subtitle) will be the story of Peter Parker inevitably trying to deny that he is Spider-Man and eventually accepting his fate that you can not close Pandora's Box. The thought process is that Peter will hire a lawyer and try to fight his case, all signs point to this being the introduction of Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk with her Disney+ show already being announced. BUT certain fans like myself are hoping and praying Kevin Feige will take this opportunity to #SaveDaredevil and bring back Charlie Cox as Daredevil and have him be poor ole Peter Parker's defense attorney because now with Tony Stark gone he has no one to look out for him financially as there will be some sort of purposeful distancing between him and Stark Enterprises.
But a Spider-Man movie revolving around a court case? sounds boring right? It is. That is why the primary storyline will be intersected with Spider-Man with his identity now out in the open, being hunted down by infamous big game hunter Kraven the Hunter. Here is my first fan casting, the role casts itself with Jeffery Dean Morgan (Negan from The Walking Dead).
We have already been hinted at for Kraven being in the MCU with his half-brother, and also Spider-Man villain, Dmitri Smerdyakov aka The Chameleon appearing in Spider-Man Far From Home. Dmitri if you do not remember was the agent that Nick Fury sends to pose as the bus driver for Peter Parker's fieldtrip when Fury highjacks it. So the story I am proposing has Matthew Murdock (aka Daredevil unbeknownst to Peter) serving as Peter's defense attorney, while during the court case Kraven shows up in NYC to try to hunt down Spidey screwing up the court case of course. Peter misses court dates while on the run from Kraven, but this is where it gets interesting, all of those that were "arrested" by Spidey will be forced to be allowed to go free by the prosecution (my idea is that the lawyer for the prosecution will be revealed to be an Oscorp representative). Now this includes, Michael Keaton's Vulture obviously but this also includes Michael Mando's Mac Gargan as he was arrested by the FBI on the Ferry with Spider-Man was there. And if you did not get the not so subtle tattoo on his neck shown multiple times in Homecoming, Mac Gargan becomes the Spider-Man villain known as Scorpion.
For those keeping score at home that is 6 villains, but it does not stop there. I believe Spider-Man 3 will primarily focus on Kraven and Scorpion hunting down Peter during the court case, eventually having either Daredevil (fingers crossed) or She-Hulk coming to his aid in the final battle versus these two. But here comes the fun part, this will have one of the largest post credit scenes in MCU history. In the post credit scene we will be shown Kraven and Scorpion licking their wounds after the battle and running into Otto Octavius, played by Christoph Waltz, and asking them "shouldn't we have our own avenging team" revealing him to be an associate of Quentin Beck's (Mysterio) showing the beginnings of the Sinister 6 setting up Spider-Man 4 to be Spider-Man vs The Sinister 6.
Quentin Beck is alive and is still trying to overthrow Spidey and has decided his best chance is to form his own "Avengers" team. With J Jonah Jameson's misguided efforts to prove Beck a hero, the Sinister 6 is heralded as the new protectors of earth!
