HLS Movie Awards 2021: Best Actress Nominees!

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! Today we are going over the Best Actress nominees for the Third annual HLS Movie Awards. The two categories regarding individual acting performances are not split up between leading and supporting roles. It does not matter if the performer had five or ninety minutes of screentime, if that is among the best performance by an actor or actress that year then they deserve that recognition.       I feel like this is a solid place to remind readers that how the HLS Movie Awards works is we consider only films that were released to wide audiences in that specific year to be eligible. A great example for this year would be Minari, it premiered so far back as Sundance in January 2020, but did not get a wide release until February 2021. I have always felt that awards like these should be for films actually available for everyone to view and enjoy the incredible art being displayed. Anyways, enough ranting on to this year's Best Actress nominees! The no

Welcome back to the HLS Movie Awards coverage on HLS Entertainment! Today we are going to discuss the best of the best of the beautiful visual work that came out in 2021! Now here on HLS Entertainment we combine the best cinematography and VFX awards into one because just so much of modern cinematography is not solely captured on camera and is digitally altered or even made/added later on. We are here to honor the nine films that deserved the most recognition for the incredible work they did in this category. I choose to let them speak for themselves.     To let each film speak for itself I have searched through some excellent channels on YouTube to find some great videos showing off these films set to their own score. Now in these videos th

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! Today we are going to discuss Part 6 of the top 116 movies of 2021, this time 25-11. Part one we discussed many popular well-known movies that flopped quality wise (and box office in some cases), part two contained films that were so close to being good but just were not quite there but were still enjoyable, part three was more of the same but had less obvious misgivings, part four we had a few that fit that mold, but that is where the list turns into just really good movies, part five is where we had a large section of very well made films. And here now in part 6 is where we get to the true excellence of 2021 films. We might have loved movies you hated, or hated ones you loved, let us know in the comments or on Twitter  @HLSEntrtainment  or my personal Twitter  @HaroldLStokes .       Now like always with every movie I am going to be putting what I personally think is the safest grading scale out there, the IMDB user rating score. Here is a sim

This nomination list is all about wordplay and these films did such a great job painting their picture with their words on the page and on the screen. For this I am not going to try to make my words more important talking about them, just know that I think they all are excellent, and I will be letting the screenplays speak for themselves and will provide a link to each! Belfast Belfast Screenplay Written by: Kenneth Branagh Coda CODA Screenplay Written by: Sian Heder Dune - Adaptation Dune Screenplay Written by: Jon Spaihts, Denis Villeneuve and Eric Roth King Richard King Richard Screenplay Written by: Zach Baylin Licorice Pizza Written by: Paul Thomas Anderson Unfortunately, at time of writing this I cannot find a copy of this screenplay and even delayed releasing this hoping I could find one. This section will be updated

Welcome back to HLS Entertainment! Today we are going to discuss Part 5 of the top 116 movies of 2021, this time 50-26. Part one we discussed many popular well-known movies that flopped quality wise (and box office in some cases), part two contained films that were so close to being good but just were not quite there but were still enjoyable, part three was more of the same but had less obvious misgivings, part four we had a few that fit that mold, but that is where the list turns into just really good movies. And now here in part five, these are all movies I would recommend as they are all very good movies. Here is a simple breakdown of what their 0.0-10 grading s
